Rum Chata and Fireball Cocktail

1.5 ounces Fireball Whisky
1.5 ounces RumChata
Directions: Fill a martini shaker with ice, then add the Fireball Whisky and RumChata. Shake and strain into a martini glass, or a rocks glass filled with ice. Garnish with a dusting of cinnamon or a cinnamon stick.



Thirsty Thursday: Blackberry Smash

Blackberry Smash Ingredients

5 blackberries

6-8 mint leaves, torn (plus more for garnish)

½ small red plum, peeled and diced (plus more for garnish)

½ ounce simple syrup

½ ounce cointreau

2 ounces whiskey

In a cocktail shaker, muddle blackberries, mint, plum and simple syrup until broken up. Add ice, cointreau and whiskey. Shake vigorously 12 to 15 seconds. Strain into a low ball glass filled with ice and garnish with a slice of plum and sprig of mint. Enjoy!

Thirsty Thursday: Blood Orange Bourbon

Anytime a cocktail is just a mix and serve, I’m a huge fan. This blood orange bourbon cocktail is sure to be a hit because of its unexpected flavor.

Ingredients

½ cup freshly squeezed blood orange juice (strain the pulp if you wish)

3-5 tablespoons bourbon (depends on how boozy you want it)

2-3 drops of Angostura bitters

orange slices & sprigs of mint, for garnish

Instructions

Mix & serve!

Thirsty Thursday: Bourbon Slushies

This is the perfect little treat that you can prepare ahead and enjoy later. What a great after dinner cocktail/ dessert!
 
 
Bourbon Slushies 

 
Yield: Just under 2½ quarts of slush
INGREDIENTS
1 cup boiling water
2 black teabags
6 tablespoons sugar
3 cups cold water
¾ cup frozen orange juice concentrate
12-oz can of frozen lemonade concentrate
¾ cup bourbon or rum
 
INSTRUCTIONS
  1. Add teabags to boiling water. Steep for 4 minutes; discard teabags. Add the sugar and stir to combine. Add the cold water.
  2. Add the orange juice concentrate, lemonade concentrate, tea mixture, and bourbon or rum to a large (2.5-quart) freezer-safe container. Whisk to combine. Cover tightly and freeze for several hours or overnight.
  3. When ready to serve, use a spoon or fork to scrape slush into glasses.

Thirsty Thursday: Apple Cider Mimosa

I am so excited for it to be October! I have been itching to share these fabulous fall cocktails for what seems like forever! Now that the weather has cooled down, I just want to cuddle up with some Netflix, blankets and a delicious treat that is sure to warm you up! This week’s Thirsty Thursday cocktail is so simple yet I never would have thought to switch up my basic mimosa. Since it’s fall why not try an apple cider mimosa!

Thirsty Thursday: Warm Vanilla Cider

INGREDIENTS 

6 cups fresh apple cider 

2 tablespoons packed dark-brown sugar 

2 whole nutmeg seeds 

1 vanilla bean (split and scraped) 

6 ounces (3/4 cup) bourbon, if desired 

Whipped cream 

Honeyed Walnuts

DIRECTIONS 

  1. Combine apple cider, dark-brown sugar, nutmeg seeds, and vanilla bean in a medium saucepan. Gently simmer over medium-low heat for 15 minutes. Remove from heat, and add bourbon if desired. Remove and discard solids. Divide among 6 mugs or heatproof glasses, and top each with a dollop of whipped cream and a few honeyed walnuts.

Thirsty Thursday: Bourbon Apple Cider Cocktail

This cocktail is sure to be a favorite during the fall! The best part about this is the ability to make a large batch in a crockpot! 

INGREDIENTS

6 oz warm apple cider

2 oz bourbon whiskey

cinnamon sticks and apples, for garnish (optional)

INSTRUCTIONS
  1. Put the apple cider in a crock pot and heat on low for at least an hour.
  2. Pour 2 ounces of bourbon whiskey into a glass.
  3. Pour 6 ounces of warm apple cider over the whiskey. Stir gently to combine.
