Wedding Wednesday- Becoming A Family

I’ll be honest I’m a hormonal mess right now. Pms on top of wedding nerves means that there is an 80% chance Dino Boy comes home to me crying and has to figure out if these are happy or sad tears. The other day I was a wreck because of quite possible the cutest moment. I logged into that fun wedding spreadsheet I blogged about last week and saw one of the best aha moments I’ve ever had looking at an excel spreadsheet. On the relationship box my favorite boy put in our spot “soon to be family” You would think that I just finished the end of The Notebook at that moment. After finally getting my breath back and fixing my permanent raccoon eyes ( I swear even waterproof mascara isn’t helping me right now!) I was once again reminded the reason of all of this craziness. I’m becoming a family. I’m going to join another mini unit, one to call my own. There is a reason this moment s so emotionally charged. You are becoming one, one mini little family. One man that will be in my life forever. If that doesn’t make you cry happy tears I don’t know what will.

My bridal shower tea!

My bridal shower was over the weekend and it was the most beautiful party. My sister and mom did a wonderful job throwing an elegant tea party that celebrated the upcoming nuptials. We had a fabulous cocktail in tea cups, shared stories about love and enjoyed each others company. Dino boy even made an appearance at the end giving me roses with something he loves about me attached to each flower. How sweet is that! Here are some of my favorite pictures from the event.

I have been trying to step up my instagram game lately….Here is a peek at what has been going on in my life these days!

On Thursday night Dino boy and I went to a new brewery in our town. The drinks were great, the food was delicious and the outdoor dining was amazing. All I need in life are great cocktail, good company and a fire pit.
I’ve been trying to get back into shape before the wedding. (68 days!) I got myself a new pair of bright shoes to motivate me to get out the door and kick some butt!
My Lilly agenda came and I got so excited. Can’t wait to fill it up!
I had the pleasure of visiting my sister and her husband last weekend. We had mojitos outside and chatted about life. It was exactly what I needed to recharge!

Help out a super awesome teacher!

Have you ever had a teacher that inspired you to learn something new every day, to push you and motivate you until you believe in yourself? Well you are about to meet a super duper awesome teacher that I’m lucky enough to call my sister.
She needs help finding the money to supply her classroom with a tablet that can be used as a teaching program, to encourage kids with positive reinforcement and a fun new way of looking at technology.
Mrs. Rhine is the kind of woman that would buy this for her classroom out of her cabinet, but should she have to? No! As a community I think we need to rally around teachers more and support them both emotionally and financially.
Help out Mrs. Rhine and a great group of kids by clicking on the link below and donating. Every dollar makes a difference!

A Family Affair

I’m finally taking a break from steaming the carpets, cleaning the bathroom, straightening up the office and preparing to host my family for dinner. Every month we all get together as a family and catch up! It’s a wonderful break from our busy schedules to just sit, have a glass of wine and enjoy the company. I think sometimes we take for granted our relationships with family and neglect to maintain that bond. I can’t imagine not being able to call my sister when I have some wedding crisis or my Dad when my car makes that funny noise. It’s great to have that permanent support system and to also be able to be that support system for them as well. So tonight, call someone in your family, catch up and thank them for all that they do for you!

It’s time to party!

It’s time to party!!!! Slumber party that is! Every year the girls in my family get together and have a ton of wine, giggles and fun. My parents got divorced in high school so the holidays were always a tough time but my Mom worked hard to make sure we always had smiles on our faces. Every year on Christmas Eve we put on matching pajamas, down a couple bottles of wine and reminisce about the past year and share what we hope to do in the upcoming year. Every Christmas morning is a hungover one but still a ton of fun. Last year, my sister got married and we had a last single girl slumber party and had just as much fun. This year, I’m excited to have my girl bonding time and enjoy a family tradition I cherish. What is one of your favorite traditions for the holidays?
