Switching Up Your Style With These Fashion & Beauty Tips

If you’ve been styling yourself in the same way for years, it might be time to mix it up a little. While it’s good to have your own sense of style, now and then it’s a good idea to switch up what you wear and how you do your makeup. You may not be a fan of all the changes you make but that doesn’t matter, it’s just about trying new things.

To help you find a few things to change, we’ve put together this little guide. Hopefully, it will help you to make a few small changes that will help to boost your confidence and make you feel a little happier with how you look.

Ask your friends to style you

Often, when it comes to our clothes, we choose a style and stick with it. However, after a while, wearing the same style day in, day out, can become a little boring. When it comes to changing our style, often we don’t know how to go about it. With so many different pieces to try, it can be hard to know where to start.

That’s why asking your friends to give you a style makeover could be a fantastic idea. Tell them they can dress you in anything they like, any style, any color. Explain to them that whatever they put you in, from Jilbabs to brightly colored skinnies, it doesn’t matter. Tell them that you just want to experiment with a couple of new looks.

Get a makeover at a beauty counter

Once you’ve covered the fashion side of your makeover, the next step is to have a beauty makeover. When it comes to how we do our makeup, a lot of us are set in our ways. If you’ve always applied your beauty products in a certain way or always used a few specific brands, it’s normal to want to stick to what you know.

However, if you want to mix things up a little, you need to start experimenting. The best way to get an idea of what different makeup looks work for you is by visiting a local beauty counter and asking them to give you a makeover. Explain that you’re looking for a different look, something a little more interesting, and see what they do. You may hate your new look, but that’s okay, that’s all part of experimenting. It might be a case of trial and error, but eventually, you’ll find a look that works for you, so don’t stress.

Switch up the colors you use

This one goes for both your clothing and your makeup. If you normally opt for a certain colored bag or a specific shade of lipstick, switch it up. Swapping from a nude lip to a bold one might seem like a big change to make, but if you love your new look, it was a change that was worth making.

There you have it, everything that you need to know about changing up your look. It might be daunting at first, swapping your look, but if you want to give your style a boost, it’s something that’s worth doing.

Great Ideas For Celebrating Someone’s Milestone Birthday

When someone reaches a milestone age, we like to ramp up the celebrations a little bit. While most years might be confined to a meal a restaurant somewhere, we might want to go the extra mile for a special occasion. If that person is particularly near and dear to us, we’ll probably have to do most of the planning. We’ve got to think about gifts, parties and anything else that may come into the equation.

Firstly, you’ll obviously want to tailor your celebrations depending on the milestone. If they are turning eighteen, you might want to hold back a little. People at that age often want to go out celebrating with their friends, and it might be good to have a family meal at another time. Alternatively, you could take them away for a day and have some bonding time. If you’re really well off, you could fork out for their first car or something similar.

For those who are a little older, gift ideas aren’t as easy. The internet is full of great options, though. You could go with something like a gift experience token if they’re quite adventurous and enjoy days out. We also love to buy special gifts for these occasions. Engraved gifts are a popular choice. You could even buy a carbon diamond for that personalized touch.

You need to think about what your plans are for the big day. Are you going to have a party with a bunch of friends? Get the invites out as early as you can. Thinking ahead is crucial, as people may have other appointments that they can’t cancel if you leave it too late. Book their favourite restaurant or entertainment activity well in advance. You could even add a touch of excitement (and embarrassment) by asking the staff to sing happy birthday! That’s always a good way to get a laugh.

What if you want to really go all out and take that special someone abroad for a holiday? In this case, you might need to think about a few factors. It’s very difficult to surprise someone if they’re in a full-time job or education, so you’ll probably have to tell them about your plans first. Do your research on where you’d like to go, and think about what you can do on the birthday itself to make it even more special while you’re there.

Finally, you need to step back and think about their type of personality. It might seem like a great occasion to take them bungee jumping for the first time, but what if they really hate the sound of that? You might find that they just want a simple day with their family at home. Try and throw in a few hints in the months prior, and figure out the best way to proceed. Their happiness is all you want at the end of the day, so listen to what they tell you.

Milestone birthdays don’t come around very often; I’m sure you’ll make someone’s day very special.

A Touch Of Gold
