5 fun date ideas for the summer

I’m all about continuing to date Dino Boy through our engagement and our marriage. I think these simple dates help us reconnect as a couple and really enjoy the time we have together without any distractions.  Here are a couple of date ideas we have scheduled for the summer.
5 fun date ideas for the summer
1. Farmers market- I know I put this on basically every thing to do every month during the summer but I love this! We pick out a ton of different fruits and veggies and create a delicious and healthy dinner for our Saturday night.  My favorite so far has been grilled peaches!
2. Sit on your porch, deck, front door….whatever is outside and peaceful and discuss the great parts of your day. No nagging, no mental to do list, just the two of you discussing the great things that are happening in your life.
3. Ice cream date. I can’t enjoy traditional ice cream because of a dairy allergy but I am able to find substitutes. It’s a fun throwback kind of date that helps cool off during the warm summer months.
4. Discover your hometown. You would be surprised how much you walk by every day. Find a new restaurant,  a coffee shop or an antique shop.  There are so many hidden gems in every town.
5. Road trips! If Dino Boy took curves a little slower (hint hint ♥) I could enjoy our road trips so much more but no matter what I always seem to giggle and reconnect with my favorite guy when we go on an adventure. Create a fun playlist you can sing along to, pack some yummy snacks and hit the road!
What are some dates you enjoy during the summer?

Wedding wednesday-happy feet

I have had the hardest time finding a pair of cute, comfortable flat shoes for my wedding. I finally found the pair I will wear when I become Mrs. Dino Boy. I am not a huge fan of heels for all day events and knew I didn’t want to tower over my favorite boy in all the pictures so I settled on these beauties from Betsey Johnson. They are fun, colorful and have the sweetest blue soles. I tried them on with my dress a couple of weeks ago and I knew they were perfect.  What kind of shoes did you wear on your wedding day?

A typical Monday in my world……

I woke up this morning totally ready to take on the weekend……..instead I realize it’s Monday
I fully wake up and try and look like a pulled together adult
I fail miserably at it
I yell at the bad drivers on my commute
I start my work day with cute kids that don’t want to nap
I wish I could take nap time for them
I think I’m done after a ten-hour work day
I realize I have more four more hours
After a long day I come home to my favorite boy
I think tomorrow will be an easy day
I realize tomorrow is another fourteen hour day

My Outfit for Memorial Day!

I’m a sucker for dressing up for holidays and this year was no different. I paired some navy Jack Rogers with a white button down, some cut offs and straw clutch, a pearl bracelet, some aviators and topped it all of a red bow. I think it’s the perfect classic look for any girl. What did you wear today?

Growing up 101

At what age is it really time to throw in the Barbie towel and realize you are an adult? A human being in the world, all alone and left to fend for yourself? At what point does it become unacceptable to call Mom 4 times a day to tell her how overwhelmed you feel?

It’s a tough transition, if ‘Growing Up 101’ was an elective class in high school i would have taken it……and failed. As much as we want to believe every person grows up at the same pace that is certainly not true. We all evolve differently and measure the success of our development in completely different ways.

I didn’t go to a fancy school, I don’t drive a luxury car. I wake up early, drive to work, spend all day with toddlers, go home, make dinner and unwind with a man that I love. I wake up every morning with a joyful heart and go to bed counting my blessings. In my mind that’s what makes me a successful adult. When did you realize you were a grown up?
